Two wins!
67-17 and 47-20
Shooting free throws!
Derek helped Boston get his derby car drawn out! Grandpa Ron is ready to help him get it started tomorrow!
Sunday, Jan. 24
Derek, Boston & Grandpa Ron spent the morning in Grandpa's garage! We even made a trip to the Hobby Store for some weights and graphite for the tires!
We knew the Derby car project was right up Grandpa's alley!
So fun for these guys to do something together!
Wed. Jan. 27: Derek and I flew to Phoenix AZ for a short get away with Evan & Jen. The boys stayed with Grandpa Ron & Grandma Lisa for 2 days, and then at the house with Grandpa Peggy for 2 days. The boys survived and we had a very relaxing time away from the every-day life! So nice to not have a daily get-up-and-go schedule for a few days!
On the airplane! I survived without any trips to the bathroom on the way there! It's hit or miss with me and flying :)
Friday, Jan. 29
The guys golfed every day, and Jen and I did a lot of relaxing! On Thursday we went to the spa for a massage and facial, and Friday we got pedicures! Crazy how fast the days go doing nothing!
The temps were in the lower 70's, and when the sun went behind a cloud, I was chilly. It was still nice to sit pool side and get some reading done!
Facetime with the boys before we headed out for supper!
Saturday
Boston had his first ever Pinewood Derby race! We were so bummed to miss his first Cadet event, but knew Grandpa Ron would have fun taking him! Grandma Lisa, Grandpa Les & Grandma Glady were there to watch too! His Flash car was a group effort. Grandpa Ron and Derek helped with the shape and assembly, and mom did most of the painting and the Flash symbol! He was pretty proud of how it turned out!
Boston was so proud of his trophy for 3rd place in Traditional Show!
Meanwhile, in AZ...I was enjoying some time reading while the Heating & Cooling guy was installing the hot water heater! We were ALL so excited about a hot shower...finally!!
Some of the beautiful views of AZ!
Saturday afternoon was the warmest day for us! We all enjoyed several hours by the pool!
Headed out for supper at the JW Marriot resort. Such a nice place within walking distance!
I loved the table side guacamole!
Sunday, Jan. 31: Headed home to see our boys! The flight home was a little rougher for me. I had some dizziness, a racing heart and faint feeling as we were boarding our first flight. As soon as I got sat down, it passed after a minute or two. It was quite scary because I just couldn't seem to catch my breath. Mid flight, out of no where, it happened again. According to my google search, it may have been small panic attacks. Yikes! Thankfully it was just those two episodes and the second flight went much better!
