Bringing Blayke Home!

Blayke and I did a lot of snuggling again last night!  She was only in the nursery a few hours.  I wasn't able to sleep much so figured I may as well be with my baby!

Daddy made it up to the hospital around 9.  We had a sitter come to the house to watch the boys for the morning, which worked out great!  It gave us a little quiet time before being discharged!

The VanderHaar's came by for a visit!
So did the Elgersma crew!  Jada was SO excited to hold Blayke!

Daddy enjoyed the yummy food at Avera & the movies!

The boys were so excited to open up their gifts from the Elgersma's!  We have done this the last few babies...we give gifts to the siblings, which is so fun for them & makes them feel special too!

Bronx got a Paw Patrol t-shirt & a book! Perfect!

 A lego set for B!
Brigs got some more Chicago Bulls stuff of J's!

We are ready to bring Blayke home!  We were supposed to be discharged around noon, but they ended up wanting to monitor Blayke a few extra hours.  I was Group B positive, and because labor came on so fast, I wasn't able to get the full dose of antibiotics before she was born.  Thankfully all checked out ok for her though!  When the severe weather alerts and tornado watch's came up on the TV I asked to get moving & in 10-15 minutes we were on the road!
While she was asleep and content, we unpacked and got laundry started!  When mom is away for a few days, the house work piles up!

Blayke Meets Her Brothers!!

Blayke got brought into my room after her bath shortly after 1 AM.  They told me the bath would only take a half hour or so, so I ended up asking a nurse what was taking so long.  I guess she looked a little pale after her bath and was doing a lot of grunting, so they monitored her oxygen for a bit.  Everything was perfect!  I even thought she looked different after being cleaned up.
Her hair is so soft and fluffy and her nose isn't as smushed!

1:42 AM:   I got her dressed in her Little Sister pajamas right away!
4:12 AM:  Mommy was pretty tired, but didn't get any sleep this first night.

This is the picture we used to text all of our friends & family our news!!  We waited to tell everyone until the boys got to meet her though!
Grandpa Ron & Grandma Lisa brought Bronx up to the hospital a little before 8 because they had to get to work.  Derek met us at the hospital.  Bronx wasn't sure what to think when he first walked in my room, but once he saw his sister and held her, he was all smiles and so proud!

Proud Grandparents!  Grandma Lisa has been so excited to have another granddaughter!!

Lisa brought up gifts from her mom & sister!  Beautiful afghans!

Dr. Scott stopped by to visit!!  LOVE her!
My sister brought Boston & Brigham to the hospital around 9!
They were all smiles when they walked in the door!  They thought Blayke was so cute and tiny and they LOVED her name!

Paisley is pretty excited to have a girl cousin!!

Grandpa could have held her for days!  He just loves to look at his great-grand babies!

One of my favorite memories of being in the hospital with Blayke was my friend Tracy showing up!  I hadn't seen her in a few years and had no idea she was coming to visit!  Such an unexpected surprise that meant so much to me!

Alliana didn't want to share Blayke with her mom & dad!

Uncle Ja wrote Blayke a poem!

We wanted to get a picture of all the boys with their little sisters!

These two just look SO PROUD!

A few more daddy snuggles before he brings the boys home for bath's & bedtime!

When Grandma Glady left for the night, I tried to get some rest but it was so hard to sleep.  I just wasn't comfortable in the bed, and I didn't want to send Blayke to the nursery.  We both snuggled and dozed off in the bed.  I did send her to the nursery for a few hours but then when I woke up after a few hours and couldn't fall back to sleep I had them bring her back to me.  Mom thought it was time for a new outfit too :)  I'm so glad I picked up some newborn sized clothes & 'up to 7 pounds' pajamas!
Even they are a little big on her!
