And the basement is 99% complete!!!

What a great day! I was off work early, the carpet was laid, and the new furniture was delivered!! I just LOVE how it all looks. After I debated for 2 weeks on what carpet to order..i had horrible dreams that I wasn't going to like it.. so all day today at work i was having anxiety about the carpet! I got home after it was all done, and I had worried for nothing (which i knew i was!). Boston is ALL excited to move his room downstairs now. Not sure about the bed yet, but he said he wants to move the toys down there tonight! Here are a few pictures, as i'm sure some of you (Chelsea) are anxious to see it!! Tim & Chels, our spare bedroom will be waiting for your arrival in July!! :)

The Childrens Church kids sang in church today for Palm Sunday. He waved his palm branch into church, and then sang 3 songs. It was so cute, and I was SO proud:) You'll notice in the video he spent the first minute or so looking sad, and searching the crowd for me. As soon as he spotted me in the 3rd pew he started to smile and seemed to enjoy it more! Derek worked today so he missed out, but I took a video so he could see how well Boston did! When I asked Boston what he was waving the branches for he said "that's how we say hi to God!" I think that's the perfect answer! I hope all of my friends and family that follow my blog feel as blessed as we do! We have wonderful family and friends, a church we love, and a God who loves us all...no matter what!

And now there is tile!

It's been another busy day in the basement! I finished up the last of the painting for the basement, and my dad came over and laid tile on the bathroom floor, and on the hearth of the fireplace. The stone that we ordered for around the fireplace won't be in until the beginning of April..so it'll be a few weeks yet before that project is complete. I absolutely LOVE how everything is coming together. Tomorrow we are spending another day down there, and will hopefully be finished up by the end of next weekend!

Last night Derek & I got together with several friends for supper. It was so good to see everyone and catch up. Life is busy for all of us so we don't get together as often as we'd like. Tonight we are getting together with the Gerdes family for supper at the Pizza Ranch. Jerry only had one sibling, so it'll be good to see Ron & Mary and their children. It's important to keep that family connection, as it's so easy to drift apart after family has passed on.

Derek continues to sell cars at Billion! He loves the job, and car sales have been good :) I got news at my job this week that our Practice Administrator (my boss) has resigned. The company will have a lot of changes coming up..hopefully positive change, with very little stress for me and my departments..but we'll see! As much as I complain about my job, and the long hours and responsibilities, I do need to be more thankful for the position. It provides my family to enjoy the "extra's" in life and has allowed us to finish our basement!!

Well, it's 4 PM and i'm still in my pj's. I'd say it's time to shower up and do a little more housework! Enjoy the weekend, and the sunshine! I even have a few windows open to let in the fresh air! I love SPRING!!

And then there was COLOR!!!

We finally have color on our basement walls!! It's finally starting to feel like living space after getting some painting done last night. I was a little nervous about the green color but we absolutely LOVE it! The pictures don't give the green it's true shade, but you'll get the idea! We plan on painting some this weekend, and then on Monday my mom and I took the day off from work to spend the entire day painting. Once the painting is complete, my dad will lay the tile in the bathroom floor, and then get the toliet and bathroom vanity in place. Next will be the tile on the fireplace, and then trim and doors...and finally the carpet!! We hope to have it complete by the end of the month! Derek has been a huge help in priming the walls. I was supposed to start that project last weekend but came down with the flu last Saturday afternoon. I didn't feel up to much until Tuesday, so Derek did a lot of the priming himself. I'm so thankful he was so willing to help because he is not a painter! Today we are heading to Brandon to visit my friend Stacy and her little baby girl Norah, then we'll head to the Brandon Holiday Inn for Brennan's birthday party. Boston is very excited to go swimming! Tonight Boston is spending the night at Grandma Glady's so that Derek and I can go to a movie with the Sichmellers! The men are going to one movie and the girls another!!

We had another busy busy week. I feel like we all go 100 miles an hour all week, and that there is never enough time to relax! Once the basement project is complete life will settle down, and then before we know it, summer will be here!! I could go on and on with other small updates or stories from the week but I better get this posted so I can move on to my next task! Enjoy your weekend my friends!
