Less than 3 weeks until baby!

I had my 37 week (36 weeks & 5 days) check up this morning!  I gained a few more pounds in the last few weeks, so am officially over the 20 pound mark.  Belly measured at 36 weeks and I am dilated to a 1, and thinning out.  Progress is great!  Little Mr.'s head is extremely low, and my cervix is hidden behind his head so the exam was not fun.  We are still planning for an induction on Wednesday, July 10th, unless the little guy decides to surprise us sooner.  Only two appointments left!

I definitely over did it the weekend we went camping.  Between loading up the car myself and lifting much more than an 8 month pregnant woman should, to sleeping (or attempting to sleep) on a paper thin mattress in our cabin, I just did not do myself any favors.  I ended up sick the next day, and still have days of off and on nausea.  I am not feeling a ton of pressure yet, but I can tell the baby has moved down lower because his jabs are not near as high as they used to be.

For the most part, I am still getting some sleep at night.  I wake up often to use the bathroom, but can usually fall back to sleep. I try to rest in the afternoon for an hour or two.  Whether it's sitting outside watching Boston play while Brigham naps, or laying down myself, I just try to sit.  If I am up and on the go all day long I am extremely uncomfortable by late afternoon.  I started sleeping with a pillow between my legs at night, which seems to make me a little more comfortable during the night.  For the most part I feel ready.  I've been making a few freezer meals here and there to have on hand for when life is too crazy to cook, and trying to mentally prepare myself for 3 boys :)

The nursery is coming along nicely!  I did a few more projects this past week, and had my dad build me some shelves.  Derek got those hung up this week, so I was finally able to put it all together.  I love how it has turned out, and knowing it was ALL hand made makes it even neater.  A one-of-a kind!

My first craft was a picture display board.  I painted and distressed a wooden frame, and then stapled twine to the back of it.
My second project was making some silhouette's of some old vintage cars.  I traced them onto scrapbook paper and framed them.  So simple & so cute!
 Complete!

The third and final project was for my dad. I wanted some shelves for the nursery, so I found this idea on Pinterest and put Grandpa Ron Ron to work.
I did the staining and distressing, so he can't take all the credit :)
 I love them!

And a fun Chevron blanket I found at TJ Maxx yesterday.

The only other craft left to hang is his name banner!

Summer Break-Weeks 2 & 3

Another two weeks have flown by and Boston is still enjoying his summer vacation!  He stays up late and sleeps in every morning.  He's been doing pretty good with his chores, and the extra help around the house with just a few little things is so nice.

We continue to stay extremely busy.  I just said to a friend yesterday, that most of the time I don't know if I am coming or going.  I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the craziness right now, and know that in just a few weeks, life will be even busier.  I am not sure how that is even possible!?  If you have children that are Boston's age, you probably feel the same as I do every June, but it seems like ALL of the activities and camps for kids is crammed into one month.  It's nuts.  This week he started swimming lessons (which is 5 days a week for 2 weeks) and continues to have baseball two nights a week.  Last week he had Bible School and baseball in the evenings.

Warming up to bat!

Playing 2nd Base & getting an out!

We did something different this year for Boston's birthday.  We had been doing two birthday parties for several years.  One with his friends, and another with family.  It ended up being a ton of work, so this year we had him chose one or the other.  He chose a party with his friends, but not that he loves his friends anymore than he loves all of his family.  It ended up being SO much fun for Boston!  He got to spend one on one time with each of the grandparents & even his Aunt Shana & Uncle Jason.  His birthday celebrations ended up lasting an entire week, rather than just a few hours.  We will definitely continue doing this in the years to come.

Last Friday, Glady & Les picked Boston up around 2 for an afternoon of fun!  They went mini golfing at Thunder Road, took Boston to Target and let him pick out a gift, had an early supper at McDonalds, and spent some time just playing and putting together his new Ninjago lego set.  He came home laughing and telling stories about the 'toads' in grandma and grandpa's backyard :)  Boston was also quite proud that he beat his grandma in golf!

Monday afternoon this week, Jason & Shana took him for a few hours.  They started off with a treat at Cherry Berry & then went to the County Fair in Brandon for some arcade games!

The weather is finally warming up, so we are outside as much as we can be!  The boys play really well together (most of the time) so I can usually just sit and supervise.

Brigs thinks he's a pretty cool dude on his new Strider bike!  He's really starting to cruise around on it.

Today we made our first trip to Wild Water West!  Derek had the day off and the weather was nice, so it was the perfect day.  One set of eyes for each kid.  Brigham isn't real brave in the water.  If he gets his feet wet we are cheering 'Go Brigs!'.  Hopefully he starts to enjoy the pool more.  I don't ever remember Boston being such a wimp about the pool at this age so not sure what his deal is.  He did venture out into the wave pool with Derek for awhile and he enjoyed himself, but then didn't want to go back in and try it again.  I've got one kid that is too brave, and one that needs to toughen up!

One last bit of excitement ais that our fireplace is complete!  After months of going back and forth on idea's and options, Derek and I finally decided on something that we both liked!  We love how it turned out.  It makes the entire basement seem so much more complete!

My first baby is 7.

Happy 7th Birthday buddy!  Mom can't believe that it's been seven years since you were born!  I just looked through our blog of some previous birthday posts, and it feels like just yesterday I was posting about your 5th and 6th birthday's.  Seven years ago I was holding my first baby boy and earning the title 'mom', and now we are all anxiously waiting for the arrival of the third baby boy.  How did I get so lucky?!
Your birthday breakfast!
Grandpa Ron stopped by and surprised you with a birthday cookie!

During nap time you tested out your new wheels!

You were pretty bummed that our weekend of camping at Yogi Bear was short lived, so mom and dad made sure that you still had plenty of fun celebrating your birthday throughout the weekend.  Saturday after we got unloaded and cleaned up from one night of camping, we took you to Target to do some birthday shopping!  You had to return a few things you already had, but were so excited to pick out some new things!  You got 3 new Ninja Turtle toys, an Iron Man Nerf Shooter and some batting gloves.  You are determined these gloves will help you to not strike out!  After shopping, you requested we eat lunch at Pizza Ranch!  It's a favorite of all of ours.

After nap time for Brigham and Mom, daddy and I took you boys to the movie The Croods!  It was Brigham's first movie in a theater.  He loved the popcorn and candy, but sure didn't like to sit still!

Sunday morning, Grandpa Ron & Grandma Lisa stopped over to wish you a Happy Birthday and bring you a few gifts!
Birthday spankings!
 Money for your savings!

 Under Armour shirt and shorts!
 Your first pair of skates!

Boston, you are such a good kid!  We couldn't be more blessed to have you in our life.  You are always smiling and so laid back.  Brigham adores you and looks up to you in so many ways, and I am sure your new little brother will too.  Every day is an adventure in our house, but I wouldn't want it any other way!  Mom hopes your 7th birthday was extra special.  I love you tons!

Boston's 7th Birthday Celebration!

Boston celebrated his 7th birthday yesterday with 11 friends at Yogi Bear Campground!  He had a great time, and so did all of his buddies!  It ended up being a beautiful day which worked out well, because there was no plan B! Our weekend away was cut short to one night instead of 2, when we woke up to 50 degree temps and pouring rain this morning.  The forecast went from 30% and 70% chance of rain for today, to 100%.  It has been raining non stop the entire day.  Brigham was not a fan of sleeping on a bunk bed and ended up between Derek and I at 5 am, in a full size bed!  I think I spent more time peeing and tossing and turning than I did sleeping.  I made two trips to the bathrooms during the night and then decided to squat near the side of the cabin when the rain came. We packed up and headed home right away this morning. We had the cars unloaded and the wet, dirty laundry started by 9!  Fun memories!

Boston was soaking up the sun while I packed up the car!
Boston enjoying the pool and his friends!

Even the boys were soaking up the sunshine!
After an hour of swimming, it was time for presents and cake!

Getting 12 boys to smile and look at the camera was impossible.  This is the best I got!
They insisted on a silly picture!

They spent the last half hour on the jumping pillow.  Lots of pushing and sweating!

After the party, we went to the pool for more swimming!  Brigham wasn't a fan of the swimming pools last year, but after 10 minutes he was really starting to get more comfortable and had fun!  We were shocked!

After swimming, we grilled up some food and Boston got to open a few more gifts.  Grandma Peggy took the afternoon off to help me with the birthday party, so she decided to hang out for the night!  Not sure she got the most sleep either but it was fun to have her along!

Lacey and her family gave him a duffel bag that has Gerdes stitched on it, and $25.
He spent it today on Ninja Turtle stuff!

He was pretty excited about his Ninja Turtle pajamas from Grandma!

The boys jumping before the campfire.  Brigham loved it!

This is probably one of our last pictures as a family of 4!

The two cute faces I woke up next to this morning!
The boys having breakfast this morning while we loaded up the car in the pouring rain!
Such a bummer we weren't able to stay the whole weekend, but at least we had one fun day/night!
