A few hilights of our week..

I didn't take a single picture this week, so i'm just going to be sharing words tonight :)

Our week has been busy, which is typical. I'm feeling well and finally able to eat like normal and get some energy back.  I think Derek was a bit concerned for a few weeks.. as he'd come home from work in the evenings and i was lounging..like i'd done all afternoon!  I think I went an entire week without doing housework and letting the laundry pile up which is NOT like me!  Week 6 & 7 of the pregnancy were not good.  I felt awful, was queezy whenever I was sitting up and all I wanted to do was sleep.  Thank goodness that has passed!  Onto week #10 now!  I ran to the mall real quick today and just so happened to pass the baby section at Old Navy.  I'm in SERIOUS trouble if this baby is girl.  I may even have to return to work full time just to pay for my shopping!  Ok, so maybe it wouldn't be that bad..but it will be hard not to shop!!  Baby girl clothes are so damn adorable!

Boston has had a good and bad week.  He is now sleeping downstairs in his new room, but for some reason has been peeing his pants once an afternoon.  Today was the 4th day in a row of having an accident so he is without tv and playing outside until Saturday.  It's gonna be a LONG afternoon tomorrow :)  So far he's done well sleeping in the basement.  Derek is downstairs on the couch (long story..he calls me the "sleep nazi"..to make it short, he snores and wiggles way too much and i can't sleep!)  so I think that is making Boston feel safer in the basement.  This weekend we'll move his dresser and other bedroom decor down there to make it official.  In the next few months we'll slowly start redoing the bedroom upstairs to get ready for the baby!  Boston also got a chore chart this week.  He's been doing very well about helping me around the house with different things.  We've decided on giving him a weekly allowance so that he can learn the concept of earning, saving and spending.  He says he wants a transformer...  my guess is he'll get his allowance this weekend and go blow it right away.  I can't see him being a saver for a big prize!

Tonight we had preschool orientation.  Boston will start next week Wed.  He's excited and so are we!  It'll be nice to get into the routine of school again.  He has a new teacher and mostly new classmates so it'll be fun for him to make new friends again.

Boston was in trouble the other night for peeing his pants.  Derek was scolding him at the supper table.  When Derek scolds Boston he gives him the "look" and stares at him to keep his attention.  Finally after Derek was done talking Boston said "Dad can you please stop staring at me now!".  I about spit my food out of my mouth I was laughing so hard.  Derek on the other hand did not think it was funny :)

That's about it for us!  Hope you all enjoy your weekend!!

Lake Michigan & An Annoucement!!! :)

On our last night in WI we went to see Lake Michigan.  I have never gone to a real beach or stepped foot near an ocean so I honestly felt like I was in CA! It was so fun.  Here are some pictures from our fun night!
Jen, Claire and Evan.
The guys..and Claire!
It was so fun seeing the expressions on people's faces when they saw the 3 person stroller.  The girls got a lot of smiles and hello's!

And now for our annoucement:)  We are expecting Baby #2!!  Due March 27th, 2011.  Baby is doing great and i'm feeling well! I had a few weeks of feeling sick on and off throughout the day..and have been extra sleepy but that's normal.  The sickness has passed and i'm finally getting some energy back!  I'm down to only a few naps a week instead of daily :)  Boston is THRILLED to be a big brother.  He makes sure to include me and the baby in his prayers!

I met another Junebug!!

For those of you that don't know what a Junebug is, here is a brief explanation!  When I found out I was pregnant with Boston I joined an online forum with other women expecting babies in June of 2006.  We have been "online friends" since the fall of 2005!  We have lost quite a few group members over the years but there are still a good group of us that have stuck together all this time. I'm not sure on the exact numbers, but my guess would be there were over 100 women in the group when it first started and now there are maybe 50.  Some of the ladies that quit the forum are still on facebook, so technically we all still keep in touch! The forum was a LIFE saver when we were going through things as new parents.  I would post my concern or question and minutes later my Junebug friends were replying with their advice or experiences.  I have met 10 Junebugs now.  I made a few trips to Texas for larger meet ups, my friend Jo and her daughter Eva come to SD to visit us, AND I made a trip to Vegas with a few of the girls!  Most recenly, while we were in Milwaukee, WI, I met Laura and Tyler.  Laura only lives an hour from Milwaukee, so they made the trip to meet up with us at the zoo for the afternoon.  I remember the first time Boston and I traveled to Texas to meet some of my friends for the first time.. my family thought I was crazy flying to another state to spend 3 days with complete strangers!  The thing ,we are not COMPLETE strangers.  I know more about my Junebug friends than I know about my friends that live in Sioux Falls and vice versa!  And it was never really akward meeting any of them in person.  It was like we had known each other our entire lives.  We greet each other with hugs, and say sad goodbyes.  I feel extremely blessed to have stumbled upon such a great group of ladies!    Here are some pictures of our meet up with Laura and Tyler!

Tyler & Boston

And the hilite of our zoo trip... yes...this actually happened in front of everyone!  I have never laughed so hard at a zoo!

Thank you Laura and Tyler for taking the time to come and meet us!  We had an awesome time, and hope to see you again some day!

Fun with the girls!!

Boston was definetely out numbered while we were in Milwaukee, especially when the guys were gone on Saturday.  Derek and 2 of his friends from college went to the PGA Championship all day on Saturday.  They had a great time!  Derek swears that Phil Mickelson nodded at him..which was the hilite of Derek's day :)  While the guys were at the golf tourney, us moms took the kids to a nearby swimming pool.  About 30 minutes after we got there someone crapped in the pool so they had to evacuate the pool for cleanup! It was a quick trip but the kids had fun and enjoyed playing at the house the rest of the afternoon and evening.  Boston LOVED the triplets, and especially loved all of the girl toys!  Addison was Boston's buddy.  Out of the blue one day while we were in WI, Boston said "I'm gonna marry her!" and pointed to Addison.  It was so sweet!

Riding bikes outside!  Haley or Emily (they are nearly impossible to tell apart!) Addison and Boston.
All the kids, and Jen :)
Haley (I can tell it's her in this picture because she is the shoe girl, and she LOVED wearing Boston's spiderman flip flops around!) Emily, Boston, Addison and Claire.
Claire just loved Boston.  She would smile whenever he was around!  It was so cute.
Lunch time!  The Dooyema house is a busy house, but the girls are SO adorable!  Shelly is my definition of Super Mom!!
The kids in their fort!

Go Brewers!

We traveled to Milwaukee, WI last week Thursday for a family vacation and to see friends!  We left at 4 AM Thursday morning so that we could get to Miller Park for the Brewers game at 1:10.  Derek is a big Brewers fan!  It was a 7 hour drive, so leaving so early in the morning worked well.  Boston and I slept until 8:30 or 9, and then it was just a few more hours of driving before we were there.  It was a super hot day, so we got really cheap seats so that we were in the shade at the ball park!  Boston had a great time at the game.  It was his first major league game, and my first MLB game since I was a little girl.  I had only been to one other game, and that was to see Kirby Puckett and the Twins play!  It was a great exerience and i'm so glad we went!  I will share more stories/pictures about our trip in the next few days!!

The boys heading into the ball park!
Boston got a new Brewers shirt and hat..yet when someone asked him who his favorite team was he said the Boston Red Sox!

I survived the MS Bike Ride!!

This weekend I participated in my first ever MS Pedal The Plains Bike Tour.  There were about 500 riders (the biggest turn out ever!) and the MS Society raised about $200,000, which is the most money raised ever at the event!!  It was the 25th SD MS ride!!  It was by far the most challenging thing i've ever done in regards to exercising!  I rode about 75 of the 100 miles in 2 days. I didn't even ride 75 miles TOTAL during training, and the longest distance I ever rode was 13 miles....so I was pretty proud riding 43 miles yesterday!  I was very nevous going into the ride. I didn't train near as well as I had originally planned, so I knew my body wasn't in great shape for something like this.  Doing anything for the first time is a bit scary, and I was not sure what to expect.  The take off on Saturday morning was very neat.  Everyone is excitited and full of energy, there is music playing, and people suffering from MS are there encouraging you, and rooting you on.  It was a great reminder as to why we were there riding.

Lets just say the route we took from Sioux Falls to Madison is a bit hilly! Every time I saw a hill coming up I about wanted to cry..especially today because my butt and knees hurt so bad!!  My body was quite sore today so I was surprised I was even able to ride at all, but I did manage to pedal about 30 miles!  Thank you to everyone that donated money to support the SD MS Society.  I was the 2nd top fund raiser in our group, and will be recognized at next years Banquet for raising over $1000!  My aunt Karla raised over $4000!!  She will probably be the top fundraiser of the whole event, so that is really neat!!  Our group, the 3M Mileage Monsters, raised over $10,000 as a group!

My mom started riding 17 years ago with the 3M team, mainly because her mother ( my grandma LaVonne) had MS.  This year a guy that my aunt Karla works with was recently diagnosed with MS, so there was another person close to the group to pedal for.  Derek's aunt Mary Gerdes and our good friend Renae Elgersmas mom also suffer from MS so they were also on my mind a lot this weekend.  Even though I didn't ride the entire 100 miles, i'm still very proud of myself!  It felt so great to do something for others!!  Will I ride again next year?!  We'll see how long it takes my rear end to recover :)

Some of the riders waiting to take off on Saturday morning.  The number of people was overwhelming...but so cool!!
The mayor of Sioux Falls got the ride going!
Our team getting ready for take off on Saturday morning!

My mom, cousin Keisha and sister Lacey riding into Madison on Saturday.  We all got in around 11:30 in the morning after 50 miles!

The 3M Team- MS Mileage Monsters.  We were missing one rider for our team picture.  It was his first year riding and he did the entire 75 mile route on Saturday..  he wasn't feeling well so missed the banquet Saturday night.
My cousin Keisha and I ready to take off for day #2!  We were up at 5:30!  They had a big breakfast for all of the riders, and the ride started at 7!
My mom, sister and a team member riding into the finish line on Sunday about 12:00.  Derek, Boston and my dad and Lisa were there to watch us all come in today!
