Da Roosta!

On Tuesday afternoon, March 24, Boston's class put on 3 short plays for the parents to watch.  I had a house full of daycare friends, but my friend Tracy came to the rescue & took over for an hour so I could watch his performance! Even Derek was able to sneak away from work, so Boston loved that! Boston was a rooster! We borrowed a few of the pieces for his costume and then I threw a mask together at the last minute.  Apparently the mask wasn't very cool, because when I showed up at school for the play, he didn't even have the mask or yellow socks on!  He did end up putting the mask on his head for the play.. I think he knew I was a bit disappointed he wasn't wearing it after I took the time to make it!

We simplify things.

Life continues to be incredibly busy.  Some weeks it's busy in a crazy way, and other weeks, I feel like it's just busy because I am a mom to 3 boys!  I don't want our weekly schedules to be so full that we can't soak up quiet moments at home, lazy weekends of doing absolutely nothing, the flexiblity to do spur of the moment things, and time to just make simple memories.  When I feel like it's getting a bit hard to manage, we simplify things.  It might mean saying no to a friend's birthday party invitation, or passing up a night of hanging out as a family with some friends, and eek... we some times skip going to church on Sunday mornings & watch an online service, just so that we can stay in our pajamas, as a family!  We do what's best for us, and our sanity.

Sunday, Feb. 22nd.   Bronx loves to read Llama Llama books!

Feb. 23.  Bronx usually climbs into the dog kennel on his own, but he did NOT like it when his brother locked him inside!

Wednesday, Feb. 25.  Brigham's preschool class took a field trip to All American Gymnastics.  He wanted his dad to go along this time, so Bronx and I spent the afternoon being lazy at home!  So glad Derek was able to go along.  He had strict orders to take a few pictures!

Saturday, Feb. 28.  Bronx has gotten into a bad habit of napping in his crib for a short while, and then snoozing on mom for another hour or longer.  This particular afternoon he slept on my legs!  It looked so uncomfortable (and was for me!) but he slept like this almost an hour! 

Sunday morning, March 1.  Derek had a 'sleepover' in the basement with Brigham & Bronx.  They all camped out on the couch.  The boys think it's awesome!  Derek doesn't mind the couch. He can sleep anywhere.  I prefer my bed!

Monday, March 2.  Bronx was extra snuggly to mama today.  

It just cracks me up that he knows how to hold up the toy gun & make a shooting noise.  He's been watching his older brothers!

Wed. March 4.  It never fails that even when Derek IS home, someone bothers me when I try to shower.  I've tried locking the door, but hearing Bronx scream & cry outside the door is almost worse than having him in the bathroom digging in the drawers and watching me.  I did enjoy a quiet shower this morning though.  It was heavenly!

Brigham helped me do a little grocery shopping before preschool!

More snuggling.  We bought some new paci's today because Bronx has been chewing holes in them!  We found glow in the dark ones.  How fun!

Friday, March 6:  Full of energy at 7 AM!  

All of the boys got hair cuts after school!  They all look so handsome & loved getting their hair spiked!

Bronx was so crabby.. so I was so glad I had plans to meet friends out that night!  Ha!  

Saturday, March 7.  Cuddling mommy again when he should be napping in his crib!

Derek & Boston got free tickets to the Summit League Tourn.  They got to watch the SDSU Jackrabbits play!  Boston loved it.

Monday, March 9.  Boston's first Warwick Workout session.  He loved it!  They worked strictly on ball handling.

March 10.  We are loving the sunshine and warmer weather.  The fresh air is good for all of us!  Bronx is quite the dare devil on the swing set though.  Makes mom nervous!

March 11.  Bronx was so funny watching his reflection in the washing machine!

 Our first night of swimming lessons.  Hoping to lighten the load of the summer calendar by getting lessons out of the way now!  Brigham went first at 5:30, then Boston at 6:05, and Bronx and I at 6:55.  No tears from any of the boys.. but it was a long 3 hours!  

March 13.  Paisley & Holdyn came last night to sleep over for 2 nights!  

 The kids played hard all day.  We put in a movie and Holdyn was zonked within 10 minutes!

 Saturday, March 14.  Another beautiful day!   Grandpa Ron came in the morning and got Boston, Brigham, Paisley & Holdyn for the day, so it was just Bronx until later afternoon. A quiet, easy day of parenting!

Brigham was SO excited to bring TMNT cupcakes to school for his birthday treat! 

March 21:  Bronx loves strawberries!  He actually likes any fruit!

The weather has gotten cold again, and we are feeling a bit cooped up in the house.  Hoping more warm sunny days are right around the corner!  These wild boys need to run loose in the yard!
