Pumpkin Party at Preschool!

Last week I got the opportunity to be a classroom helper for Boston's Pumpkin Party in Preschool! I love getting to do these things with him. As a working mom I feel like I miss out on so much already, so getting the chance to miss some work for a fun day with Boston is such a blessing! There were 4 different "stations" for the kids to do different pumpkin related things! There were pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin carving, painting a pumpkin, and decorating a gord with fun crafty things! Boston and I had a great time!

My trip to Las Vegas & Pumpkin Carving!

It's been awhile since i've updated as life has been busy as usual! I recently took a trip to Las Vegas!! It was my first experience in Vegas and wow..what a good time! One of the hilites for me was riding the rides on the top of the Stratosphere! The rides were incredibly scary but so much fun!! I met 5 of my "Junebug" friends in Vegas! For those of you that don't know who the Junebugs are, they are a group of women I met online 4 years ago when I found out I was pregnant. We all had kids in the month of June in 2006. There are about 70 or so women in our group, and we chat regularly on a forum. This is my 5th time getting together with some of these ladies, and one of those times my friend Jo from Texas and her daughter visited us in SD!! It's crazy to say that I met some of my closest friends on the internet but it's so true! These ladies are great, and it's like i've known them my whole life. We enjoyed our time together in Vegas and have plans of another get together in 2010! On Wed. night we went to Colman to say goodbye to Grandpa Harold & Grandma Lavonne. They left on Thursday morning for their winter in Texas! It's always sad to see them leave but they really enjoy their friends in Texas..and the warmer weather! Today, Boston spent the day with Grandpa Ron and Grandma Lisa in Correctionville, IA. They spent the day at Lisa's sister's house carving pumpkins with other friends and family. Boston had a great time and Grandma Lisa did a wonderful job carving Boston a pumpkin of "The King" from the Disney Cars movie! Boston came home with 2 extra pumpkins so tonight he and I carved out a Lightning McQueen pumpkin and have plans of doing a Mater pumpkin tomorrow night! They turned out so cute!!

It's Valentines Day :)

Boston has quite the imagination! Yesterday afternoon I cleaned out my closet and found some of Boston's left over Cars Valentines from February along with some other Valentines Day things. Last night he found them laying in my "pile" and said "Oh mommy is it Balentimes Day?!" Since it was close to Bostons bed time i bribbed him by saying "Yes Boston, tomorrow is Valentines Day! If you go to bed like a big boy tomorrow morning we'll have a Valentines Day party when you wake up!". He went to bed holding 3 of his Cars Valentines cards and this morning he walked out of his room still holding them! He remembered right away what day it was! I just couldn't stop laughing but it was fun! I made up a little Valentines Day sack of goodies for him. I threw in some Halloween candy, and some left over stickers from the closet! He loved it! However when he saw the stickers he said "wow mommy! but i already have these!". I guess we won't be "regifting" things for Boston anymore:) Here is a picture of Boston and his "Balentimes Day" goodies in October!
