New Orleans Trip!

Sunday, April 29
Dana & I left bright and early for New Orleans!  Neither of us had been there so we were looking foward to seeing a new city and getting a much needed break from every day life at home!  We started walking around as soon as we got checked into our hotel!  So much to see within walking distance so it was great!

We did some shopping right away!
A band marched by so we watched from the balcony of our hotel room!
 Trying out the Gator Balls!

Dana got real brave & tried a lot of new foods! Gator Balls were edible, but not a favorite for me!

Monday!
While Dana worked at her conference I did some lounging!  It was delightful!

World of Beer was right across the street from our hotel!  Perfect!

Our first time on Burbon Street!
The little kids playing music for money was kind of heartbreaking.

 I loved the old buildings!

We were told Cafe Du Monde was a New Orleans MUST!  It was delish and it was SO busy, even on  Monday night!!

This is as close as I got to getting beads on Burbon Street!
Tuesday morning I ventured to the WWII Museum!  It was huge and a bit overwhelming so I didn't spend a ton of time there since I was by myself, but still glad I made the stop!

After the museum I spent some more time by the pool!  The sunshine felt so good!
After the ladies got done working we went out to eat an early dinner & do some more wandering around the city!

We rode a bus around the city for a few hours.  It was relaxing and fun just to people watch!

Wednesday:  Our final day in the city!
Dana's coworker flew out Wed. morning so it was just Dana and I on the last day!
The Po Boy we shared!  Not near as exciting as everyone made it sound!

We found a balcony to have a beer on!  So fun!

We were a little unsure it would even hold up!  So many of the buildings are falling apart.

Thursday- time to head home.  It was a LONG day of delayed flights but we eventually made it home!

Bronx & Blayke spend a few days at Jill's while I was on vacation so I knew they were having fun without me!
It was such a fun trip!  A good mix of relaxing and site seeing!  Just what this mama needed!
