A special day for a special boy!

Boston had a GREAT 5th birthday!  It was full of fun and excitement!  Since Derek had to work all day we decided to let Boston open up his gifts from us last night.  I knew I wouldn't be able to keep Boston waiting until Derek was off work tonight!  He loved his gifts and was so sweet about thanking us.  He said he loved all of his things.  I think the Transformer playdoh set was probably his favorite thing.  He played with it right away before bed last night, and that was the first thing he asked about this morning!  I'm so glad he felt special on his big day!

Here are a few pictures of him opening up a few gifts last night!  He got the Cars 2 Mobigo game, Transformer playdoh set, a magnetic chore chart, a pair of pj's and a superman shirt! 

He loves to play his Mobigo and he loves CARS!

 He is quite the helper around the house so he is excited to start using his magnetic chore chart!

This morning started off with a special birthday breakfast!  He asked all week if he could have his special birthday struedel for breakfast. (we started this last year)  Instead of struedel this morning he picked waffles! 

And then Grandpa Ron & Grandma Lisa came with a special birthday gift!! 

Turning 5 is a BIG deal ya know!  :)

What is under the blanket?!  Boston hollered 'I see a wheel on this thing!'

 It's a Go Kart!  A few years ago Grandpa Ron started promising Boston a Go Kart when he turned 5.  Boston didn't forget it either!

After Grandpa & Grandma headed back to work we headed off for an afternoon of birthday fun!  We stopped at Toys R Us and Boston got to pick out a present from Brigham :)  He also got his name announced at Toys R Us for being the birthday boy.  He thought it was so cool hearing them say his name!  After that we headed to CherryBerry.  It's a new frozen yogurt, self serve bar in town.  It was DELICOUS! So glad we went!   We'll be making many more stops there this summer.  We tried 3 different flavors, and topped it with gummy worms, gummy bears, skittles, cherries and strawberries!  A crazy combo but that's what he picked!

We'll be getting to bed early tonight.  It's a full day of birthday celebrations tomorrow!  His friends come at 1:00!  The plan is to have squirt gun fights outside, but if the weather doesn't cooperate we'll be having the party inside.  I'm sure they would have just as much fun terrorizing the toy room!  And then after his friends leave, family will be coming at 5 for a grill out.  Birthday's are so much fun!
