Ready for carpet!!

We continue making progress in the basement!  Each new thing that gets done puts us one step closer to having it complete.  Every little step is exciting stuff!  Our custom shelving for both sides of the fireplace & our reading nook bench and bathroom vanity are another 2 weeks out, plus installation, so hoping that time goes fast. We are anxious to see it all complete! That is really the only hold up right now.  We finally decided on light fixtures this week, purchased a toilet & scheduled carpet installation for this coming Thursday!  Here are a few pictures of the progress since the painting was completed.

A week ago Thursday & Friday, our trim & doors were installed!  That made a huge difference in finishing things off!  Derek is not liking the gray paint choice.  I think it's such a nice change from tan, and because our basement windows are 'below ground' we won't see a ton of sunshine once we have blinds up.  I think the lighter paint shade will be refreshing!  

 As soon as we get some carpet, Boston will be moving down to his new room. He isn't thrilled.  He even asked if he could just share a room with Brigs or the baby!

 The bar is on hold for a few more months.  We were so undecided about how we wanted it to look, and didn't want to rush into making decisions.  This is also a huge expense, and we didn't want to be over budget before we had the rest of the work complete.  The floor trim stops where there will be brick/stone underneath the bar counter top, where the stools will sit.
