Brendsel Get Together

Saturday morning, April 25, the boys and I headed to Brookings to pick up Grandma Peggy.  She rode along with us to Wilmar, MN where we were having a Brendsel get together at the AmericInn. My uncle Larry headed back to Alaska at the end of April, and it had been quite awhile since we had all gotten to see him and his boys, so we planned a family get together for those that could make it!  It was so much fun seeing Larry, Jeremiah & Jarod.  It had been too long!   The little cousins had fun swimming together while the adults visited.  It worked out well because we were the only group in the pool area all day Saturday!  It was also a little bittersweet..  My uncle Larry was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this past fall, so he was not feeling 100%.  None of us know what tomorrow will bring, but adding cancer to the mix makes it a little scarier.  Larry loved seeing everyone!  He had never met Brigham or Bronx, and hadn't seen Boston since he was a baby so it was very special for me that he got to see my boys!  Some of the family just drove to MN for the day, but my grandparents, Larry & his kids, and the boys & Grandma Peggy all had hotel rooms for the night.  The kids were excited to stay in a hotel!

 My uncle Larry, Grandpa Harold, aunt Karla, my mom, uncle Kelly and Grandma LaVonne.  It would have been so nice if my uncle Lonny & aunt Kristi could have been there.  It's been awhile since we've gotten a complete family photo of this crew!

After a day FULL of swimming for Boston, we got the boys in their pajama's and attempted to get them settled down for bed.  I made a quick run to Dairy Queen and picked up ice cream for everyone!  The boys were wired.  I don't even remember what time everyone ended up asleep, but it was much later than normal!  Brigham ended up in bed with Grandma Peggy, and Boston, Bronx and I were in the other.  Bronx would NOT sleep in the pack n play, so it made for a long night with very little sleep for mom!  I kept glancing over at my mom & Brigham and they were both just zonked & cozy!

We were up early Sunday morning for breakfast.  The boys got in the hot tub with Grandma Peggy before we packed up and headed home.  It was hard saying goodbye to Larry, but I am so glad we got to spend some time with him!
