End of March/April

We've been enjoying some really nice days, and then bundling back up for more cool and windy days.  Brigham has worn shorts and tank tops around the house for the last few months and he never complains about being cold.  I on the other hand, can be bundled up in layers and still drinking coffee mid afternoon to stay warm!  Brigham loves school, but can sometimes throw a stink fit when he has to wear pants and long sleeves!  We all had a mild cold a week in early April, but thankfully, it was short lived and nothing some tylenol and essential oils couldn't fix.  The boys are a little over half done with their swimming lessons & doing well.  There have been a few Wednesday's that I have wanted to skip, but the boys always want to be there, so I pack them up and away we go!  Here are some pictures capturing the events of the last 3 weeks!

March 24. Bronx's favorite place to sit.  He also enjoys taking ALL of the blankets out too.

The boys playing with Brigham's new lego set that he got for his birthday.

Wed. 3-25:  Snuggle time with Brigham watching Paw Patrol!
I went and watched Boston's matinee performance of the Spring Program.

Brigham & Bronx staying entertained during Boston's swimming lesson.

I really dislike swimming, so I dread having to get wet & be cold.
Bronx has done great though, so I suck it up for his sake!

Bronx putting his nose in and trying to blow bubbles!
Brigham waiting for his teacher to pour water on him!

He doesn't love being on his back!

3-26:  I was so glad I went to the matinee performance yesterday, because Bronx only sat nice & quiet for about 10 minutes of the evening performance!
3-27:  Bronx LOVES his big brother!  If mama is too busy to cuddle, and dad isn't around, he is content with Boston.
Bronx plays with the broom more than he plays with his toys!
A quiet 20 minutes waiting for the kids in the school parking lot!
Saturday, March 28.  I brought the boys to the Kidtopia Easter Egg Hunt!
The Elgersma girls met us there too!

The kids came home with some really fun stuff!
The boys putting together the 3D basketball puzzle they got at Kidtopia!
Brigham is really into books lately, so we have been stopping by the library about once a week for books and movies!  Derek had been wanting to watch the movie Iron Will with Boston for months & we found it at the library!  We loved sitting down with the kids to watch a movie that we remembered from our childhood!
 3-29:

Tuesday, 3-31:  A beautiful day to be outside!  The kids are off school all week for Spring Break!
When the kids don't have school, I have older kids at daycare to help with the little ones!
4-1:  Brigs was so excited for our babysitter Lauren to come over!  He even chose to skip the movie Home so he could stay home with her!
The movie Home was super cute!
April 2nd.  Sweet little Bronx naps more on my lap than he does in his own bed.
Gives me time to put my feet up and read my book though!
Friday, April 3:  Grandma Glady babysat the boys so that I could spend the afternoon with my mom to help her celebrate her birthday!  Grandma decorated eggs with the boys!
We don't do this at home, so it was something special for the boys!
After lunch at Grille 26, we did some shopping & then stopped for dessert at Oh My Cupcakes!

4-4:  Boston reading to his brothers!
4-6:  Selfies of Bronx!  He holds up the phone to everything and says 'Eeezzz!'

4-8:  Brigs & Bronx watching Boston swim.
4-9:  The boys staying entertained with our shoes!

Friday, April 10:  Brigham's 4 year check up with Dr. McKercher.
He's all of 31 pounds, but healthy as can be!

All up to date on shots & only shed a few tears!
Every time we get in the car he takes his socks and shoes off.
Derek had the weekend off, so spent all day Friday getting the landscaping ready for our deck expansion!

We are anxious to get the deck project done!
It'll be great outdoor space for a big table & chairs.  More meals outside & less mess in the house!

A special Easter guest.

Easter is always a meaningful holiday, but this year's Easter celebration was extra special for me and one that I will remember for years.

Easter morning, the boys woke up to goodie baskets from the Easter bunny.  A few weeks earlier, I accidentally confirmed Boston's assumption of who the Easter bunny really was.  I had ordered some Scholastic books from school, and when Boston brought them home I said 'Don't show those to your brothers!  They are for their Easter baskets!'.  Oops!  He looked at me with big eyes and said 'Sooo... you ARE the Easter bunny!'  He knows better than to open his mouth and ruin it for the little boys, or this Easter bunny will stop leaving him a basket :)

My mom came down and went to church with us in the morning.  The boys surprised me and ALL sat nice and quiet!  After church, we came back to the house and started getting the food ready for our Easter lunch.  The Rentschler family came down, but the most important guest this year was my uncle Lonny!  I almost teared up when he walked in my house. To make a very long story short, circumstances in life have made my mom's family drift apart over the years.  Lonny hasn't had a relationship with any of us for 6 or more years, but recently has started to come around.  He and my mom enjoyed catching up, and I just sat back thanking God for answered prayers.  The healing of health, and the mending of hearts and relationships.   So thankful He is always forgiving, and that He loves us unconditionally.

We had a delicious meal and an Easter egg hunt for the kids.  A typical get together with my family is usually short lived, but my mom and Lonny stuck around until late afternoon!  My mom made her famous Sour Cream Raisin pie, which is a favorite of Lonny's!  I loved every second of the day.

Saturday afternoon, April 4, Grandma Lisa & Grandpa Ron dropped off Easter baskets for the boys.  The baskets were made out of candy boxes!

Easter morning.
I think they were pretty excited about their stuff!

A new Diary Of A Wimpy Kid book for Boston and I to read together!

 Bronx stealing some candy!
It didn't take long for the boys to warm up to Lonny!  He brought them each a bag of chocolate!

Out looking for eggs in the yard!
