We passed by a city school whenever we left the Mission-Haiti compound. The kids loved to wave, shake our hands or give high fives!
We spent another morning at the Lines School! We worked with some of the older elementary kids making musical flutes, bracelets and doing the LIMBO! The kids loved it!
They had no idea what a hot glue gun was and loved getting a chance to use it!
Salvation bracelets!
Black: Sin
Red: The blood that was shed
White: Purity- you are washed clean
Green: New Life
Gold: Heaven will be our forever home!
A view of the Mission-Haiti compound from on top of one of the buildings!
Bloom Where You Are Planted!
A lone flower growing out of rocks on top of the building.
Leann, myself and Jen!
After lunch we went back out for a few more home visits. Some of the sponsor student homes were nice and well built and others were in really rough condition. This home was in pretty rough shape. The home didn't have a roof so everyone that lived there, which I believe were 5-10 people, all slept on the floor of a one room tin roof shed.
Sisters, brothers, friends, family... these little Haitian kiddos look out for each other!
Frankie. He has a piece of my heart. This boy took my hand in the mountains and told me he didn't go to school. He wanted to and he wanted help. I don't know his exact story, but from what we know, he had just recently come to the community to live with his grandma. If this boy turns up in the sponsorship program, he is ALL mine!
Very tough living conditions again.
On our hike back down the mountain Frankie insisted on carrying my backpack for me. He even wanted to hold my hand or put his hand on my back to help me guide me down. It was the sweetest.
Loading up in the truck and waving goodbye to Frankie was hard. I just cried.
I hope I see this little boy again someday.
When I told the kids Frankie's story Brigham just sobbed.
He is my softest hearted kiddo.
He will even randomly mention Frankie in conversation and still get tears in his eyes.
