Bronx-6 Months

My baby is 6 months old.  So crazy!

Bronx got two teeth last week, both on the bottom!  On Monday the 6th, tooth #1 one poked though, and the next day, tooth #2 made an appearance!  Getting those first teeth is so exciting!  After a month of eating rice cereal once a day, he is now eating baby foods like a champ! He loves all of his orange veggies, but sweet potatoes are his favorite!  We've tried one green veggie and so far peas are a no go.  His favorite fruit is banana's, but he eats just about all of the other flavors too! Now that he has gotten a taste of some flavorful stuff, he isn't a fan of the rice cereal.

The past two months he had still been getting up one or two times a night to have a bottle.  This started when he came down with an ear infection at around 4 months, but once we finally got those cleared up I knew he was just waking up out of habit.  It was getting old, so I decided that at 6 months, I was going to attempt to ween him from the night time bottle and use the cry-it-out method.  We did this with the other boys too and after a night or two of crying, they had it figured out.  I hate hearing them cry, but know they are ok.  Well, Bronx turned 6 months old on Thursday the 9th, and that night he slept the
entire night!  I couldn't believe it!  He did the same thing again the next night!  He has had a few nights of crying once or twice, but then he slept all night again last night.

His typical daily routine is:

Up for the morning around 7 AM.  He usually will have a bottle (6 oz.) and lay on the floor and play.  He's usually very content in the morning.  He consistently takes a good morning nap around 9 and will sleep 2-3 hours!   When he wakes up he gets another bottle and depending on the day, will eat some baby food for lunch.  His afternoon nap isn't as consistent yet, but around 2:00 he will sleep 1-2 hours.  He will sometimes have another bottle before his afternoon nap, just depending on what time I finally get him sleeping.  When he wakes up around 3-4, he will have another bottle.   Some days he will nap again between 5-6 PM, and other days I keep him awake by keeping him entertained with a bath, a car ride or an early supper.  If he does nap, I usually give him a fruit & veggie around 7, along with another bottle and by 8PM he is asleep or crabby!  So, 5-6 bottles a day, 6 oz. each and 1-2 meals a day of baby food = a healthy growing boy!

Bronx loves to have his toes in his mouth and hates having socks on.  He is rolling more just in the past few days from tummy to back, and back to tummy.  He isn't sitting up yet on his own, but is learning with help from mom and dad.  He is also just starting to scoot around more in his crib.  He usually lays so still and swaddled all night, so when I went into his room the other morning to find him sideways at the end of his crib I was quite surprised!  He coo's a lot, smiles and flirts with who ever will give him attention and loves to pull his mommy's hair!

Grandma Glady got out this old picture of Jerry. We have thought all along that Bronx looks so much like his papa and this picture proves it!  Isn't it crazy how much they look alike?!

12/28:  Your first veggie!  You ate the whole container!

You've never been a huge fan of being on your tummy!

1/6:  1st Tooth!
Look at those eye lashes!

1/8:  A fun day at home with Brigs & Bronx!
Watching The Hungry Caterpillar on the iPad.
You can see tooth #2!
Some fun mommy & Bronx pictures!

He has outgrown his baby bath tub, but isn't sitting well enough for this bath seat, so bath time is a little hard right now!
Scooting around on the floor!

If he isn't standing in his jumperoo, he wants to be standing/bouncing on your lap, or on the floor!  He just always has to see what's going on!

1/15:  He woke up happy after 11 hours of sleep!  A little Mickey Mouse Clubhouse before we headed to the doctor's office!
Bronx had his 6 month check up this morning with Dr. McKercher.  He weighs 15 pounds, 14 oz., (17%) and is 26 inches long (45%)!   A healthy growing boy, and right on track to where both of the other boys were at this age!  He did not like his shots, but as soon as we got home he fell right to sleep.

So thankful for a healthy, happy little guy!
