Boston loves to hear about the memories we have of him being born, his first words, when he learned to crawl and walk and funny things he did. He will see Bronx doing something silly and then ask me if he did that when he was little. We love to look back at photo albums, or this blog, and read stories and browse pictures from his previous birthday's and parties. It's so hard to put into words how much joy Boston brings to our life. He has a soft heart, a kind spirit and such a fun personality! He had a very busy (busiest week of the whole summer!) birthday week, but we survived & there was a lot of time set aside to celebrate his birthday!
On Monday night, June 9th, I blew up this water slide & pool while Boston & Brigham were at VBS. When we got home, I let Boston open up one of his gifts from Grandma Peggy (the empty box!) and then opened up the garage door for him to see the pool all put together & ready to play on the next day with his daycare friends!
Tuesday morning, June 10th! My baby is 8!!
He spent the morning of his birthday at a basketball camp, but when he got home at 11:45, Grandpa Ron & Grandma Lisa came with some gifts for him, so it was present opening time!
He even had a gift from Oaklee & Otto & Bennett & Kinli!
He was pretty excited about a big bag of licorice & an iTunes giftcard from Oaklee & Otto!
A Ninja Turtle chapter book & a butterfinger from Bennett & Kinli!
A few more Ninja Turtle guys, two I Survived books, a SkipBo game, basketball and money for savings from Grandpa Ron & Grandma Lisa!
After presents, we had a picnic lunch outside & then Boston and the daycare kids played on the new water slide! They had a lot of fun & the weather was gorgeous!
And a yummy cupcake before nap/rest time!
The cupcakes were a hit with the kids! The girls even loved the army guys & flags!
Off to baseball! It was a memorable night for B! He stood up and caught a pop fly while he was playing catcher! The other teams coach walked up to him and shook his hand, and told him it was one of the best plays he had seen all season! I was bursting with pride! Most of the time the kids playing in the catcher position just sit and let the balls bounce past them. They just don't realize that it's an important job, so I was so proud that Boston knew what to do and got an out!
Running to get an out at 2nd & going for a double play!
And after the game, we headed to church to catch the last hour of VBS & the Watoto Childrens Choir performance! It's Go Go Go with these boys!
Because of the busy week, we waited to give Boston his gift from us on Wednesday morning! We didn't wrap the gift, so told Boston to sit down on the floor and close his eyes for a surprise.
Golf Clubs! He now has a nicer set of clubs than his mom!
He also got a gift from Ja, Shana & Alliana!
And money from the Eisenga's! He thought it was pretty cool that he got a check!
Grandma Glady stopped over after VBS on Wednesday night with a gift.
Boston yelling at Brigham to quit opening his gift for him! :)
Brigham wanted to have his own picture taken with Grandma :)
And Boston wanted his picture taken with his little brother. He just adores Bronx!
Another busy, but memorable birthday in the books! He is loved by everyone who knows him!
Thank you to all the friends & family who made him feel special on his birthday!
